About Sleep & Relax
A hand-picked set of sounds for winding down at night: gentle rain, slow classical piano like Satie and Debussy, Tibetan singing bowls, steady brown noise and long-form sleep streams. Most play right here in Melo, and you can set a sleep timer that fades the sound out before stopping.
Every recording comes from a real source — Wikimedia Commons, the Internet Archive, YouTube, SoundCloud, Bandcamp or Freesound — and is credited to the person who made it, with its license shown on the sound page.
Questions
- What kind of sounds help with falling asleep?
- People tend to prefer steady, predictable sound with no sudden peaks: rain, distant thunder, ocean waves, brown or pink noise, and slow instrumental music. Try a few and keep the one that fades into the background for you.
- Can I stop the sound automatically after I fall asleep?
- Yes. Use the moon icon in the player to stop after 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, or at the end of the current sound. Melo fades the volume out gently before stopping.
- Is Melo free?
- Yes. Melo is free and open source, with no sign-in, ads or subscriptions.
